Why Plateau?

I once read something that said, “We only notice plateaus when we’re expecting a mountain.”
For the past year, I’ve felt stuck. No grand progress, no thrilling breakthroughs. While the world around me rushes upwards, chasing the next peak, I’ve felt left behind.
But my love for ceramics, Chinese tea, and incense kept me anchored. Slowly, I realised: the quiet act of making something—shaping clay, steeping leaves, rolling incense—became my antidote to the anxiety of “not achieving.”
That’s why I started Plateau. Every piece in this shop is handmade or handpicked by me or people I trust. It’s not just about selling things; it’s about honouring the space in between—where we catch our breath, recalibrate, and remember that creation itself is a kind of progress.
In a world obsessed with the climb, I’m reminded: sometimes the bravest thing you can do is pause. And sometimes, the most meaningful thing you can do is make.
