Sustainably grown and handpicked in Yingde, China
Yingde Black Tea, also known as Yingde Hong Cha, is one of the three most famous black teas in China, alongside Keemun and Dian Hong. Originating from Yingde City in Guangdong, it is a popular and highly regarded tea.
This tea became a significant export, especially to the UK and Europe, and was reportedly a favourite of Queen Elizabeth II, who served it at royal banquets. This beautiful black tea is made from fine leaf buds covered in golden buds and produces a vibrant, bright red infusion. The tea opens with a rich, sweet aroma with floral notes, often reminiscent of honey and ripe persimmon, and a nutty character of graham cookies. The brew offers a smooth, flavourful sip with a natural brown sugar-like sweetness and a lingering, pleasant baked goods aftertaste. Additionally, the flavour profile evokes the sensation of honey-coated tapioca balls, much like those found in milk tea, adding a unique and delightful twist to the experience.
